Born in 1978, Montreal poet and performer Renée Gagnon has a Master in Literature (UQAM) and has published in several journals such as C'est selon and Fusées. She was awarded the Emile Nelligan prize in 2005 for her first book des fois que je tombe (Le Quartanier). Her second book, Steve McQueen (mon amoureux), a long narrative poem which is also the imaginary life of the American actor, appeared in 2007 (Le Quartanier). Gagnon has also transformed this book into a solo multimedia performance, and will first perform it at the Quinzaine de la Poésie in March 2008.
