Schedule of Activities

9:00 to 11:00 amSuper 8 Film: Help to make digital versions. (20 minutes maximum per person).

10:00 to 11:00 amSeniors Digital Media Lab: Help to scan and copy cassettes into digital formats, e.g. MP3 and WAV.

11:00 am to 12:00 noonDownsizing: Panel discussion about the technical, emotional and philosophical aspects.

12:00 noon to 1:00 pmVernissage (with refreshments) for an exhibition of digital media creations made by seniors during the past year and crafts recycling old media. Presentations on opportunities to get involved in two new Atwater Library projects: “Canada in 150 Seconds: 150-second Videos by 150 Montrealers for Canada’s 150th” and “Seniors Helping Seniors Develop a Living History Collection.”

1:00 to 2:30 pmInheritance Tracks: Group discussion about choosing recorded music to bestow to future generations. This is inspired by the BBC Radio program Inheritance Tracks. Following the discussion, a demonstration of how to transfer vinyl to digital formats.

FREE admission.
