Atwater Poetry Project next readings Thursday, February 18 at 7:00 pm: Soraya Peerbaye and Jason Guriel

The Atwater Poetry Project, an almost-monthly reading series, was founded in 2004 by Montreal poet and translator Oana Avasilichioaei, and is currently directed by Katia Grubisic. Featuring exclusively poetry, the Atwater Poetry Project is unique in Montreal. The series brings together local, national and occasionally international poets, offering audiences a chance to hear their favourite writers live, and introducing them to poets whose work they may not have known. Over the years, the Atwater Poetry Project has presented the work of Canadian poets such as Robin Blaser, Christian Bök, Nicole Brossard, Jean-Marc Desgent, Phil Hall, Erín Moure, M. Nourbese Philip, Goran Simic and Betsy Warland, as well as international writers such as Andrés Ajens, Flor Aguilera García and Ida Börjel, among others. The readings are sponsored by the Atwater Library, the Writers' Union of Canada, The League of Canadian Poets, the Union des écrivaines et des écrivains québécois and the Canada Council for the Arts.
