Marilyn Bowering’s Bio

MARILYN BOWERING has received many awards for her poetry and fiction, including the Pat Lowther Award, the Dorothy Livesay Prize and several National Magazine awards. Her work has been short-listed for the Governor General’s Award and for the Dublin Impac, the Orange Prize, the Sony Award and the Prix Italia. She was a 2008 Fulbright Scholar and currently teaches at Vancouver Island University. Her most recent books are the collection of poetry Green (Exile, 2007) and the novel What It Takes To Be Human (Penguin, 2006). A new book of poems, Soul Mouth, was published in fall 2012 by Exile Editions.
