Atwater Library and Computer Centre

The archives of the Atwater Library and Computer Centre of the Mechanics’ Institute of Montreal contain records of the organization dating back to its founding in 1828 (see History page). These records are housed in a secure vault. Researchers doing relevant work may apply to examine the original records, but the organization lacks the resources to give widespread access.

To provide wider access to the records of the Mechanics’ Institute of Montreal, the first nine minute books containing meeting minutes from 1828 to 1890 have been scanned and are available for download as PDF files.
