Volunteers Wanted

We’re a community library open to everyone that depends heavily on volunteers to run many of our services. What you give is priceless. What you get is an opportunity to make a difference, be part of a community that cares and come into contact with interesting, engaging and very committed people.

We’re seeking new volunteers for the following roles:

  • Circulation desk duty — weekly three-hour shifts with a partner. Duties include greeting and giving information to visitors and callers, assisting borrowing members, and checking out books and DVDs.
  • Home delivery service — occasional visits to home-bound clients in nearby downtown Montreal to deliver and retrieve books and DVDs.
  • Computer Centre help desk duty — weekly three-hour shifts. Duties include checking in and giving light guidance to clients using computers, printing and scanning documents, and making photocopies.
  • Gardening — seasonal planting of annuals, perennials and bulbs, plus weeding.

Volunteer now! Download and fill in the application form, email Head Librarian Kimberley Ryan at kryan@atwaterlibrary.ca, give her a call at 514-935-7344, or just drop in to visit us.
