RACHEL LEBOWITZ is the author of Hannus, a hybrid-form biography of her great-grandmother, Ida Hannus. Hannus was shortlisted for the Roderick Haig-Brown Prize in the BC Book Prizes, and for the Edna Staebler Award in Creative Non-Fiction. Her most recent book is Cottonopolis, which imaginatively traces the Industrial Revolution era cotton industry ties between Manchester, England, the American South, India and the West Indies. She is also co-author, with Zachariah Wells, of Anything But Hank!, a children’s story illustrated by Eric Orchard. Originally from Vancouver, she lives in Halifax, where she works as an adult learning program coordinator in the public library system.
