Computer training is offered in our dedicated computer classroom. Ongoing courses and workshops are scheduled throughout the year, and private instruction is available on demand. Maximum number of students per course is 8, and each student works on a Dual Core PC using Microsoft Office Professional software and other programs.

Computer Essentials

Learn a computer’s basic parts and functions. Set up your first email account and develop safe Internet habits. 4 hrs. $55 for everyone! 

Introduction to Windows 10
Designed for beginners, this course introduces you to Windows 10. Learn how to create, save, open and delete files, and how to access your important data. 8 hrs. Non-Members $145, Members $135, Seniors $125

Microsoft Office 

Introduction to Word 2016

This introductory course helps orient beginners to Word. Learn how to create, edit, print and save documents, as well as use formatting tools to adjust headers and footers. Grammar and spelling functions will also be used. 8 hrs. Non-Members $145, Members $135, Seniors $125

Intermediate Word 2016

This intermediate level course builds on basic Word knowledge. Work with additional tools, features and mail merge functions. 8 hrs. Non-Members $145, Members $135, Seniors $125

Introduction to Excel 2016
For beginners interested in using spreadsheets to analyze data and plot trends. In this course, you will learn how to format worksheets, use simple functions and sort information. 8 hrs. Non-Members $145, Members $135, Seniors $125

Intermediate Excel 2016
A continuation of the Introduction course includes advanced formulas and functions, cross-referenced data and charts. 8hrs. Non-Members $145, Members $135, Seniors $125

Advanced Excel 2016

This advanced level course builds upon the skills covered in prior levels. Combine multiple functions, record simple macros and work with pivot tables. 8 hrs. Non-Members $145, Members $135, Seniors $125

PowerPoint Presentations 2016
Learn how to create engaging slides for your school or work presentations.  Add charts, graphs, images and animation for a dynamic slide show. 8 hrs. Non-Members $145, Members $135, Seniors $125

Online Essentials

Facebook and Instagram
Social media is not just a fad. Learn how Facebook and Instagram can be used to stay in touch and share your favourite media.  4 hrs. Non-Members $85, Members $80, Seniors $75

Cloud Storage
Explore the available options for backing up your information using the Cloud. Learn helpful tips for using Google Drive, iCloud, OneDrive, and Dropbox. 4 hrs. Non-Members $85, Members $80, Seniors $75

Web Design Basics
Make your own website using WordPress. Learn how to design, create and maintain a simple website. 12 hrs. Non-Members $190, Members $180, Seniors $170

Our knowledgeable instructors are available for individualized training at the Atwater Library or at your home ($10 extra transportation fee for home instruction). For beginners or for experienced users wanting a special skill set.
